No Child Left Behind/ESSA

TheElementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) was first passedby Congress as part of President Lyndon B. Johnson’s War on Poverty.This legislation provided federal funds to support public education,particularly in resource-poor, low income settings. The most recentreauthorization amending ESEA is the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001(NCLB). This legislation aimed to close the achievement gap betweengroups of students through greater accountability and increasedflexibility and choice. NCLB affects almost every school district andcharter school in the state. Below are listed reports which are requiredfor school districts under NCLB legislation.
