S.T.E.M. Pre-K Fun Club Day Friday!
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM TAHOKA ATHLETICS.....PLEASE READ IN FULL.
About an hour ago the UIL sent out an email informing us of the following decision:
Due to statewide concerns with COVID-19 (Coronavirus), no athletic contests will be allowed March 16th – March 29th. Practices may be held with approval from the school district. At this time, all athletic activities will resume on March 30th.
Tahoka ISD will follow the recommendations from the UIL and allow our teams to practice as long as they stay within the guidelines below:
Practice Limitations: If practicing while school is not in session, schools shall limit practice for UIL activities to a maximum of eight hours per school week per activity, in addition to a maximum of sixty minutes per day, (or 300 minutes per week on a block schedule), Monday through the end of the school day on Friday.
NOTE: School practices (to include open gyms, open weight rooms, etc..) are up to the discretion of the local school district.
What does this means for Tahoka Athletics? Following the THSPA Regional Meet at Sundown tomorrow and tomorrow night's baseball game scheduled for 7 pm @ Lubbock Cooper, we will shut down all power lifting, baseball, softball, and track practices until March 23. At that time we will resume back to school and will proceed with the normal practice schedule like any other school week. We will continue to abide by the UIL's decision, and will get communication about making up the games we will miss during this time out to you as soon as we get further word and a chance to meet about scheduling. Thank you for your understanding and please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or concerns.
